‘A revolutionary moment in painting’

Early sculpture

1982 to 1983

Shakespearean Heroines

These sculptures have a bronze finish and were made by building up glass fibre and grinding it down. They show a common stamp of D’Oré’s creativity – a novel use of medium and a link to literature.

Four pieces were made:

Cleopatra, Lady Macbeth, Ophelia, Juliet

They are all over life size and are in a private collection
